This seminar day is intended to be the first of a series whose aim is to give philosophy research students at Scottish universities the opportunity to talk about their work to their peers in other departments in a friendly, informal setting. 

Getting to the seminar day

George Square is 10-15 minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley station. Take the Market Street exit and walk up Cockburn Street up to the Royal Mile. For a map showing the station and George Square, click here. Edinburgh Waverley station is shown by a red dot.

Post-seminar day meal and overnight accommodation

The post-conference meal will be in a reasonably priced restaurant near the university and the bill will be split evenly between diners. Everyone is very welcome, but if you would like to attend, please email Zoë Payne (Z.V.Payne@sms.ed.ac.uk) so numbers can be confirmed.

Zoë can also supply information about overnight accommodation in Edinburgh. It may be possible to arrange an overnight stay with a postgraduate philosophy students in Edinburgh, though be aware that accommodation may be basic (sofa or floor) and you may need to bring a sleeping bag. Email Zoë if you would like to take up this offer – spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
