Call for abstracts

We invite abstracts from postgraduate students on PERCEPTION, ACTION, REASONS, EMBODIMENT, MENTAL CONTENT, and CONSCIOUSNESS, and related areas within philosophy of mind. They should make for papers of a suitable length for a reading time of 40 minutes.

500-word abstracts should be submitted by 25th May. Please email submissions to, in Word or PDF format, for blind refereeing.

You will be informed by 1st June whether your abstract has been accpeted.

Responses to all graduate papers will be delivered by members of the philosophy department at Edinburgh. Speakers must submit full texts of their papers by 15th June so that responses can be prepared.

The cost of the conference meal will be covered for all speakers. Thanks to the generosity of the University of Edinburgh and the Analysis Trust, we are also able to offer a contribution of at least 75 towards travel and accommodation to those speakers not receiving support from their departments or other funding sources, and hope to be able to cover the whole cost of attendance for speakers from within the UK. Please indicate when you submit your abstract whether you will require a bursary.
