Updated SPPA website

26 Apr 2005

The SPPA website has been revamped and can be visited at http://www.societies.stir.ac.uk/sppa/index.html. Our aim is to make the site a valuable resource for our members and others interested in philosophy in Scotland.

To do that, we will need your help.

Please look around the site and let us know if you find a page that doesn't display properly or a link that doesn't work, or spot a typographical error or inaccurate data. Whilst we have tried our best to test the new site comprehensively, some mistakes may have evaded our notice, and we are limited in the number of different system and browser setups we can test.

We'd also love to hear from you if you have any ideas for improving the site, or even if you just want to let us know what you think of the new layout. In particular, we are hoping to develop the "Online resources" section into a useful tool for postgraduate research. At the moment, it isn't much more than a list of various philosophy department pages for Scottish universities, but we hope to soon make it much more than that. We don't intend to attempt a comprehensive list of philosophy resources on the web. There are other sites that do that and often the sheer volume of links can be bewildering. Instead, we'd like to compile a list of the most useful philosophy sites on the web. So if you've found a site that you think other postgrads should know about but perhaps don't, please let us know where to find it.

You may also notice that the main page of the SPPA mailing list (SCOT-PG-PHIL) site has been updated to match the new website. The functionality of the site remains the same, however, and we hope it's even easier to find your way around the new layout.
